FoP, Connections, School Council and Courageous Conversations are Peabody School’s parent/ caregiver groups. We have jointly affirmed that we are committed to working towards being an anti-racist community that supports the school to deliver rigorous, joyous and culturally responsive learning for all children. We believe in relationship building, amplifying unheard voices, community learning and self-reflection. We are dedicated to ridding our community of ableism, classism, homophobia, nativism, racism, sexism, transphobia and all other forms of bias and bigotry.
Friends of Peabody was formed in the fall of 1990 and each year since then the Friends has raised money to be used for the benefit of the students. FoP raises approximately $15,000 a year to supports activities such as field trips, author visits, and the school art gallery.
Teachers, staff and caregiver organizations make requests which are reviewed and approved by the FoP organization. The FoP always welcome any new members to help organize and staff fund raising efforts, to review requests made by teachers and staff and to bring new ideas to the group. The FoP meet on the second Friday of every month. For now, we’re on Zoom but we look forward to when we can meet in person again in the Peabody library.
