Looking for Families to Join FoP

Friends of Peabody welcomes everyone back to the new school year. We know that this one is going to be challenging for everybody and we have started to talk about how we can best support the Peabody community through this. We will certainly share more as we figure some of this out, but first we’d love to invite anybody who is interested to join FoP. Whether your family is new to Peabody or whether you’ve been in the community for a few years now, we would welcome new voices to our group.

What does “join” mean? All it means is that you come to our meetings and contribute to our discussions, provide new ideas, or just listen. Of course, our meetings are going to be at your computer this year and we probably won’t have our first full meeting until October, once everyone is somewhat-settled into the school year. In the meantime, if are interested in what we do or want to get more involved, send us a message at fopcambridge@gmail.com and we’ll be sure to include you as we start our planning for the year.

Run with Us!

On May 8-9, 2020, our crazy group of Peabody School parents and supporters are teaming up to run the Ragnar Cape Relay for the fourth time. Over the past few years, our runners, volunteers, and donors raised over $22,000 for school enrichment activities! This year we’ve decided that running the 190-mile course is not enough of a challenge. We want to see if we can gather two teams together to take this on. Two teams of 12 runners, 24 together, all running to support the Peabody School. If you’ve ever heard about a Ragnar relay and were interested in running or driving or you just want to see what all the hype is all about OR you really, really, really would like to spend two days in a van with fellow parents, now is your chance to follow your dreams. Please reach out to Jenn McManus-Goode at jennmcmanus@yahoo.com if you would be interested in participating or have questions. We are hoping to make a decision about whether or not to fund the second 12-person team by November 13 and to secure firm commitments by end of November.
