This post is the first of (hopefully) many that will highlight some of the great activities that Friends of Peabody helps to fund. It’s also the first guest post we have! This was written by Martha Smith, Violet’s grandmother, who helped to chaperone last week’s 4th grade field trip to the Lowell Mills. Along with these pictures that she has shared with us below, she has a much more in-depth post about the trip at her own website, MKS Con Brio. Thanks, Martha!
The Friends of Peabody annual appeal is coming! This is one of our biggest fundraising efforts of the year and helps to allow us to fund all of the great things going on at the Peabody School. This week some of the FoP members, as well as a couple of kids, got 300+ letters, signed, folded, sealed and stamped. They are ready to go, so look for these letters in your mailbox soon.
Did you know that the shopping you might already be doing at Amazon can can support Peabody enrichment activities? You just need to go to smile.amazon.com and select Friends of Peabody, Inc. as your beneficiary! After that, you just need to make sure to start your shopping at smile.amazon.com and a portion of every purchase you make will go towards supporting all of the activities sponsored by Friends of Peabody.
The 2018-19 Raspberry cards are now available. This $10 card provides you with discounts at more than a dozen local businesses; follow this link to see details on all participating businesses. If you haven’t already gotten your card (or two for the family!) reach out to any FoP members or buy them directly through our website here using a secure PayPal link.
Everyone at Friends of Peabody is excited about the start of the 2018-19 school year. We will be selling t-shirts and the new Raspberry cards at this week’s curriculum night. At our first monthly meeting we have already started to plan for our annual events like the Ragnar race, the social night, and our annual solicitation.
We will continue to have our meetings at 7:30 am in the school library on the second Friday of each month. Our next meeting will be on October 12; please come join us if you’re interested in getting involved with Friends of Peabody in any way. We are always looking for new ideas and new parents who’d like to get involved.
